Representing President George W. Bush and Veterans Affairs Secretary James Peake ,Director Darin Selnick of the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives at the Department of Veterans Affairs arrived in Hollywood Hills, California on November 11, 2008 and delivered a moving speech about the sacrifice of U.S. Veterans and the 'blank check' those Veterans have written for the preservation of liberty and freedom. Homeland TV Network covered the speech and the event, held at 11 AM on November 11, 2008, Veterans Day Tuesday. Homeland TV is a channel of The Griffith Corporation. Prior to the event, Director Selnick met with Griffith Corp. Chairman Will Griffith and his partner and company president Alysyn Bourque-Griffith. Darin Selnick was appointed Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in July 2004. He recently served as Special Assistant to the Secretary and Associate Dean, Veterans Affairs Learning University. Serving in the Air Force from 1985-1992, he attained the rank of Captain. Director Selnick was joined on stage by a Congressional Medal of Honor winner, the Mayor of Los Angeles and Sheriff Lee Baca of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Selnick was the guest speaker. Homeland TV and the Griffith Broadcasting Channel will be airing a back-to-back rebroadcast of Selnick's address starting Monday.

Homeland TV covered the Veterans Day address by FBCI Director Darin Selnick on November 11, 2008 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California. Chairman Will Griffith met with Director Selnick prior to the event. Accompanied by his partner and Chief Executive Officer of The Griffith Corporation Alysyn Bourque, the Chairman said the speech would be rebroadcast on both Homeland TV Network and Griffith Broadcasting. "It was an amazing address to the crowd", said Chairman Griffith, "And Director Selnick's passion for Veterans Affairs and the work he has done on their behalf was reflected in his speech. Darin's leadership and steadfast values are all intertwined in his patriotism. His brand of leadership is desperately needed in this country". Following the event, Will and Alysyn Griffith joined Director Selnick for a private luncheon in Hollywood Hills.
