The ICON Project is the International Communications and Operations Network, designed exclusively for our partners at Griffith Colson Intelligence Service. ICON enables GCIS to gather and filter priority information and intelligence communications on national security, counter-terrorism, global emergencies and other information and deliver it to the public faster and accurately. ICON is designed to take the information provided by federal law enforcement, intelligence and security agencies, as well as other media, and deliver the information to the global community at a remarkable rate. The ICON Project is currently in Beta testing and is now in operation by GCIS. The Cyberspace Information Network Delivery
Interface allows the communications command center to receive data from
one source in another language and translate it for delivery and
distribution. CINDI is designed to enhance the ICON (International
Communications & Operations Network) System, by focusing on the
translation of information from other languages into English for
intelligence distribution. CINDI also allows ICON to take information in
English and, for example, translate it into Arabic for immediate
delivery to an Arab population. If the information needs to be delivered
in France, the application translates the data into French.CINDI
also allows the information to be gathered and translated as soon as it
is available from the source. CINDI then takes the information,
searches a particular category for the data (example: TERRORISM) and
immediately prepares it under that category. CINDI then checks the
language of the data and the IET officer selects a destination and
language for translation. CINDI does the rest, following the command of
the IET (Information Extraction Team) Officer and delivers the
information to the selected destination. The entire process takes one
minute and is sent to every source in the ICON database under the chosen
category. The core of the application is designed to
strengthen ICON's information gathering and delivery capabilities on
matters of national security, intelligence, law enforcement and military
information. The system is now being tested and is scheduled for
operational launch by April. It will be integrated into the ICON System
for official use.Read about CINDI in The Bramford Times
